A New Kind of Purple

I have no idea what this plant is but the purple flowers are lovely.

Early Morning Rain

It's a cold wet morning and the peregrinas have not woken up. Even the sky is grey.

Basking in the Morning Sun

The common daisy, Bellis perennis; humble, stepped on, survivor.

Reds

White on the Water

Peace and calm.

Geisha Girl

The geisha girl doesn't really look like a geisha. The golden dewdrop isn't golden. But those are the common names of the plant, the Duranta erecta.

Periwinkle

The perwinkle, Catharanthus roseus, is a small plant, growing to heights of three to four feet. The flowers have reddish centers and the rest of the five petals come in different colors.

Refreshing after a rainy day, the periwinkles are relatively easy to grow and maintain.

Interesting Purple

The Green Aralia or Osmoxylon lineare is a bush with long spiky leaves.

It looks rather ordinary until the buds, flowers and fruits appear. The buds appear like a ball of pearls attached to one stalk.

Pink

I am running out of shades and hues. Here's a pink peregrina (Jatropha integerrima.

They are little flowers that grow out of hardy shrubs with waxy leaves. I believe it's the contrast between the yellow stamens and the petals that make them so exciting.

Green on Blue

Little ferns grow wherever they can find space - out of a crack in a painted log.

Really need to get a good macro lens.

Bachelor Buttons

Known by various names, here the Gomphrena globosa is also called the Bachelor Button. Lovely little plant.

Bright and Yellow

So wonderful to see the flora world in the splendid hues. Here's a yellow to the collection. This is the Turnera ulmifolia or yellow alder.

Life to be Shared

New Plant

The biodiversity around here is so rich! I am finding lovely flowers and not having a single clue what they are. Here's another of my finds.

Ugly Duckling

Out of the buds, a lonely young peregrina (Jatropha integerrima) flower peeps out.

Water - Life

Everything in life should be about moderation. Water included. I believe this plant is known as the Wrightia religiosa.

Red

Scarlet and strong against the morning rain.

The Ixora coccinea is a genus of flowering plants in the Rubiaceae family. It consists of tropical evergreen trees and shrubs and holds around 500 species.

Weed

Even weeds look pretty if the light and angle are right. What more about people?

I don't know what these plants are.

Another White Out

The fairy lily (Zephyranthes candida). I love it when there are pinks and yellows and whites in the same spot.

Green in the rain, green in the sunlight. Different light, different perspectives.
